Survey of the History of Western Art

This course covers Western European visual and material culture beginning with Paleolithic Cave Paintings and ending with Gothic Cathedrals. We investigate the context and meaning of iconic works of early western art, as well as critical lesser known objects that help reveal the richness and complexities of past cultures.
